I love to both give and receive homemade Christmas gifts. The effort and thought that goes into making something special is really appreciated – it doesn’t matter if it’s not perfect – it’s definitely the thought that counts here!

Here are some ideas for edible Christmas gifts that you can make yourself – perfect to give to family and friends  – you could even get the children involved and they can make gifts for their teachers?

You could use sterilised jam jars or mason jars to hold your goodies and tie a ribbon and label onto them or you can buy cardboard cake boxes that you can fill with pretty tissue paper to hold your gifts.

Perfect if you have some Christmas cookie cutters. Decorated with white icing and silver balls these cute biscuits make a lovely gift.

Make these delicious truffles extra special – personalise with the addition of your recipients favourite liqueur or remove altogether for a alcoholic version. Store in the fridge before gifting!

Pretty in pink – this classic, nostalgic sweet treat is made in the traditional way with milk and sugar which is then blended with desiccated coconut – An old school favourite!

Easy Peppermint Creams

Really easy to make and they last well. You can also dip into chocolate for an extra treat or add food colouring and get creative! Use crumbled candy canes to add a minty, Christmassy topping!

You will need:

Few drops of peppermint flavouring

225g (8oz) ready-to-roll icing

Icing Sugar

Method:

Gradually need peppermint flavouring into fondant icing.

Roll out on a work surface dusted with icing sugar and cut out with festive biscuit cutters or just roll into balls and flatten.

Leave for 24 hours until firm.
