Easy Craft: Valentine’s Day Card
With just a few materials and 10 minutes of your time you can create a simple but effective Valentine’s Day card.
Valentine’s Day, celebrated on February 14th, gives a great to have an excuse to get crafting and make something yourself is more personal and heartfelt than a shop-bought card.
I’ve borrowed this simple idea from my daughter who has been using paper hearts to decorate little frames around her favourite photographs.
To make this easy Valentine’s Day card you’ll only need a few materials and it’s really simple to make, just follow the steps or video below to make this easy Valentine’s card.
Be creative! Use different papers, different card shape and words…there are endless possibilities.
A Valentine’s Card does not have to be exclusively for your other half. You could show your love/appreciation to a friend with a ‘Galentine’ – a slightly cringey word, but the sentiment is lovely.
Materials
Patterned or coloured paper(s)
Heart punch
Blank card
Rub on/transfer words/sayings or a calligraphy pen
Pencil and ruler
Double sided tape or glue dots
Scissors
Method
Step 1
Punch 9 hearts from the paper or papers. I have chosen 3 similar patterns, but one pattern or colour would work well too. Fold each heart in half.
Step 2
Choose an appropriate ‘saying’ or words and rub the transfer onto the card. Or, if you have lovely handwriting, write your own message. Do the same inside if you like.
Step 3
Mark the centre of your card where you would like the middle heart to be. Then mark one either side using a ruler.
Step 4
Open the hearts out flat and stick the central one on first using a very small piece of double-sided tape or a glue dot. Then stick on the hearts above and below it. Repeat with the hearts either side.
Step 5
Lift each edge of the heart to give a 3D effect.
