Wedding Anniversaries and Gifts, Birthstones and Flowers
Wedding anniversaries, so we all know that 50 is gold?
Easy… but what about 10, 15, 20? Need a handy guide for remembering the birthstones and flowers for each month too? Or what about what to give as an anniversary gift? For help with all the above, just look below!
For a gift fitting the anniversary, we have a few ideas…
1st Wedding Anniversary (Paper)
A fun idea for your paper anniversary is to get you and your partner tickets for an experience together. Whether it’s your shared favourite band, a sporting game, or even a holiday, they’re sure to love it!
For a more budget friendly idea, buy a poster or print that you think they’d like. Or, even better, paint or draw them something yourself! A heartfelt and handmade gift is always appreciated.
5th Wedding Anniversary (Wood)
The wood anniversary stems from how the tree symbolises strength and wisdom, and represents how much you and your partner will have grown and become stronger, and wiser, together.
For your wood anniversary, why not commission or make a wooden sign for your home? Something that either represents your wedding day, or an important memory, or maybe one that you can add all your memorable dates to as you go along.
10th Wedding Anniversary (Tin)
Tin is a trickier anniversary for a romantic gift; a can of soup isn’t the most obvious reflection of a happy marriage! But the idea of the tin wedding anniversary is romantic – it represents how your marriage is long-lasting and resilient.
For a tin anniversary gift, why not find a decoration for the house or garden made out of tin? Or for a more sentimental gift that you can both cherish and contribute to, find a tin that you can keep mementos in. Keep plane tickets from holidays together, photobooth pictures, notes you’ve written for each other…it’s all up to you! And then on a rainy day you can open the tin and reminisce on all the good times you’ve shared.
30th Wedding Anniversary onwards
If you and your partner have shared many happy years together, you’ll find that from the 30th Wedding Anniversary onwards, the years are marked by beautiful jewels like Pearl (30th), Ruby (40th), Sapphire (45th) and Emerald (55th).
A classic gift to make use of these gorgeous gems is jewellery! Having a necklace, bracelet or earrings representing a celebration of your lasting marriage is sure to be a wonderful reminder of the years shared between you and your partner.
